Roof Repair in Boston: what to know
Boston winters are cold and snowy, with nor'easters that bring heavy snow and wind. Triple-deckers, brownstones and very old homes are common, often with aging plumbing, knob-and-tube wiring or ice-dam-prone roofs.
- Ice dams form when snow melts and refreezes at the eaves, pushing water under shingles.
- Flat roofs on older buildings need regular coating and seam checks.
