Heating in Houston: what to know
Houston is hot and humid for most of the year, with heavy rain events and hurricane risk from June through November. Many homes sit on slab foundations over expansive clay soil, which shrinks in drought and swells in rain.
- Heating is used only a few weeks a year, but heat pumps also run in cooling mode, so one tune-up covers both.
